What you can do here
- Find a medicine by typing, even if the spelling is wrong or sounds different.
- Speak the medicine name instead of typing it.
- Take a photo of the customer's paper chit, or of several strips, and let the app add the items.
- Tap items from a Frequent grid of your most recently sold products.
- Change quantity, remove a line, and give a discount on one item.
- Sell a full strip or sell loose tablets from a strip.
- Give a discount on the whole bill, round the total to whole rupees, and record a part payment.
- Choose the payment mode: cash, upi, card or credit.
- Save the sale with the Sell button. The app picks the batch that expires first, on its own.
- After the sale: show a UPI QR code to collect payment, send the bill on WhatsApp, or open and print it.
Find a medicine by typing
Steps
- Tap the Find medicine box.
- Type at least 2 letters of the name.
- Wait a moment. The app shows a list with the medicine name, the salt or generic name below it, the price and how many are in stock.
- Tap the row you want. The item goes into the cart and the search box clears itself.
Good to know
- Search only starts after 2 letters. Below that, nothing is searched.
- The search is forgiving. It matches near spellings and near sounds, so a wrong spelling or a mis-heard name still finds the right medicine. "dono 650" finds Dolo 650, "kroc" or "krosin" finds Crocin, "kombiflam" finds Combiflam.
- While it looks, you see Searching….
- If nothing matches, you see "No match. Check Inventory to add it." That means the medicine is not in your product list yet. Add it in Inventory first.
- The price shown in the list is the price of the batch that expires first.
- If an item has no usable stock, tapping it shows "No stock for <name>" and it is not added.
Speak the item instead of typing
Steps
- Tap Speak item at the top left of the screen.
- Say the medicine name clearly. The button turns red and shows Listening….
- Tap the button again to stop. If you forget, it stops on its own after about 7 seconds.
- The button shows a spinner while the app converts your voice into text.
- What you said is put into the Find medicine box, and the matching medicines appear below.
- Tap the correct medicine to add it.
Good to know
- The first time you use it, your phone will ask permission to use the microphone. Allow it. If you block it, you see "Microphone blocked. Allow mic access in your browser."
- Voice needs internet. With no internet the button turns grey and stops responding, and holding your finger on it shows "Voice needs internet".
- Voice only fills the search box. It never adds an item by itself, so you always confirm the right medicine by tapping it.
- If the app cannot make out the words, a short message tells you it did not catch that and asks you to try again. Just tap and speak once more.
- Voice works on both Android phones and iPhones.
Scan a customer's list from a photo
Useful when a customer hands over a written chit, or puts several strips on the counter.
Steps
- Tap Scan list at the top right of the screen.
- Your phone camera opens. Take a clear photo of the chit or of the strips. You can also pick a photo already on the phone.
- The button changes to Reading… while the app reads the picture.
- When it finishes, a message at the bottom tells you what was added, for example "Added 3: 2× Dolo 650, 1× Crocin".
- Check the cart lines and the quantities before you sell.
Good to know
- The app reads both the item names and the quantities written next to them.
- Names on a chit are often untidy. The app matches them the same forgiving way as the search box.
- Items it cannot match, or items you have no stock for, are listed after the word "skipped" in the same message. Add those by hand.
- If nothing at all matches, you see "Nothing matched your stock."
- If the photo is blurry or dark, you see "Couldn't read the photo. Try a clearer picture."
- The photo is made smaller on your phone before it is sent, so it does not eat much data.
- Only one photo is read at a time. Wait for Reading… to finish before scanning again.
- Scanning needs internet.
Use the Frequent grid
Steps
- Leave the Find medicine box empty.
- Look at the Frequent grid below the search box. Each tile shows the medicine name, its price and how many are left.
- Tap a tile to add one of that item to the cart. Tap again to add one more.
Good to know
- The grid shows up to 12 products, built from what your shop sold most recently. If you have not sold much yet, it fills up with products from your list in name order.
- The grid hides itself as soon as you type 2 or more letters in the search box.
Work with the cart
Steps
- Each item you add becomes one line in the cart card.
- Tap the + button to increase the quantity, the − button to reduce it. Reducing below 1 removes the line.
- To give a discount on that one item only, type a number in the small % off box on that line.
- Tap the bin icon at the right of the line to remove it completely.
- Tap Clear in the bottom bar to empty the whole cart and start again.
Good to know
- The line shows the rate and the unit, so you can see at a glance whether it is priced per strip or per tab.
- The amount on the right of each line is the value after that line's own percentage discount.
- The app will not let you sell more than you have. The + button simply stops at your stock, and tapping the item again in the search list or the Frequent grid shows "Only <number> left".
- The per-line discount must be between 0 and 100 percent.
- Clear also clears the customer name and phone, any bill discount, any amount received, and puts the payment mode back to cash.
- Your cart stays on the phone if the page reloads or you step away to another screen and come back, so a half-built bill is not lost. It is kept only for the current browser tab: close the tab, and the half-built bill is gone.
- Line and bill discounts, round off and part payment work on every plan, including the free one.
Sell loose tablets instead of a full strip
Many customers want 4 tablets, not a whole strip of 10. Quick Sale handles that.
Steps
- Add the medicine to the cart as usual.
- On that cart line, tap the small grey button that says → sell tablets.
- The rate changes from the strip rate to the per tablet rate, and the quantity now counts tablets.
- Set the number of tablets with + and −.
- To go back to selling full strips, tap the same button, which now says → sell strip.
Good to know
- This button only appears for products where a pack holds more than one unit. For a single bottle or a single tube there is nothing to split, so the button is hidden.
- The per tablet rate is the strip price divided by the number of tablets in a strip, rounded to two decimals.
- When you switch to tablets, the maximum you can sell is all the tablets in your whole strips plus any loose tablets left from strips already opened.
- If a product has no full strips left but some loose tablets remain, adding it puts the line straight into tablet mode.
- When you sell tablets, the app uses the already opened strip first, and only opens a new strip when it has to. Your stock record then shows one less strip and the leftover tablets from it.
Add the customer (optional)
Steps
- In the cart card, tap + Add customer (optional).
- Type the Name, the Phone, or both.
- Tap the small cross to hide the fields again and clear what you typed.
Good to know
- A walk in cash customer does not need this. Leave it blank.
- If the phone number already exists in your customer list, the sale is linked to that same customer instead of making a duplicate.
- If you type only a phone number, the customer is saved as "Walk-in" with that number.
- The phone number is saved against the customer, so the balance to collect and later reminders are tied to the right person.
- Customer details are required when the customer is not paying the full amount now. See the next section.
Discount on the whole bill, round off and part payment
Steps
- In the cart card, tap + Discount / part payment.
- In Discount on the whole bill, type the discount amount.
- Choose ₹ to treat that number as rupees, or % to treat it as a percentage of the item total.
- Leave Round to whole ₹ ticked if you want the grand total rounded to the nearest rupee. Untick it to keep the paise.
- In Amount received now, type what the customer is actually paying right now. Leave it blank if the bill is paid in full.
- If the amount received is less than the total, the app warns you that the balance will show under To Collect. Add the customer name or phone above.
- Tap the small cross to close this section. Your entries stay.
Good to know
- The short line on the + Discount / part payment button shows a summary, for example the discount amount and the balance, so you can see it without opening the section.
- The rounding adjustment is shown next to the tick box, with a plus or a minus sign.
- The bill discount is shared across the lines in proportion to their value, and tax is worked out after the discount. You do not have to do anything for this.
- The app refuses bad numbers instead of quietly fixing them. You will see a red message and the Sell button will not work if the discount is more than the bill, if the percentage is above 100, if the amount received is more than the total, or if any number is negative or not a number.
- If you try to sell with money still outstanding and no customer entered, the customer fields open by themselves and the app asks you to add a name or phone. That balance has to belong to somebody.
Take payment and save the sale
Steps
- Look at the bar at the bottom of the screen. It shows the number of items, any bill discount and the grand total.
- Tap the payment mode you are taking: cash, upi, card or credit. Cash is selected by default.
- Tap Sell.
- The button shows Saving… for a moment, then the sale confirmation screen appears.
Good to know
- The bottom bar sticks to the bottom of the screen once the page gets long, so Sell is always within reach of your thumb.
- Sell is greyed out while there is a problem with the discount or the amount received.
- When you sell, the app takes stock out of the batch that expires first. If that batch does not have enough, it takes the rest from the next batch to expire, and so on. Batches whose expiry date has already passed are never used. This is why old stock leaves the shelf before new stock, without you tracking it.
- The invoice number is given automatically by the app.
- Tax is worked out backwards from the price on the strip, so the customer pays exactly the printed price and CGST and SGST are split out inside the bill.
- After the sale is saved, the cart, the customer fields and the bill options all clear themselves, ready for the next customer.
After the sale: QR, WhatsApp and print
The confirmation screen shows a green badge with "Sale recorded", the invoice number and the total. If the customer paid only part of the bill, it also shows what was paid and what balance has gone into To Collect.
Steps
- To collect money by UPI, tap Collect ₹<amount> via UPI QR. A QR code appears with the amount already filled in.
- Turn the phone so the customer can scan it with any UPI app, or tap Open UPI app on this phone to open a UPI app on your own phone.
- When the money lands in your account, tap Payment received to close the QR.
- To send the bill, tap Send bill on WhatsApp. WhatsApp opens with the bill message already typed. Press send.
- To print, tap Open / Print. The invoice page opens and you can print it.
- Tap New sale to go back to a fresh Quick Sale screen.
Good to know
- The UPI button only appears if your shop's UPI ID has been saved in Settings. Add it there once, and it works for every sale after that.
- The money goes straight to your own UPI ID. The app does not sit in between and takes no cut. Because of that, the app cannot know by itself that you were paid. You confirm it in your own UPI app, then tap Payment received.
- The QR carries your UPI ID, your shop name, the exact bill amount and the invoice number as the note. Any UPI app reads it.
- The WhatsApp message contains the invoice number, the date, up to the first 10 items and the total. It is sent from your own WhatsApp, from your own number, so nothing extra is needed to set it up.
- WhatsApp opens with the message ready and you pick the customer's chat yourself. The customer's phone number is not carried across to this button today.
- Automatic WhatsApp sending, where bills go out without you pressing send, is a Pro feature and is separate from this button. Write to info@entyti.com to know more.
Common questions
Do I have to pick a batch? No. The app picks the batch that expires first and uses it up before touching newer stock. If one batch is short, it takes the rest from the next one to expire.
Will the app sell an expired medicine? No. Batches whose expiry date has passed are ignored when the app works out the price, the stock figure and what leaves the shelf on a sale.
Can I sell 4 tablets out of a strip of 10? Yes. Add the item, tap → sell tablets on that line, and set the quantity to 4. The app opens a strip and keeps the remaining 6 tablets on your stock record.
Why can I not tap Sell? If the cart is empty the whole bottom bar is hidden, so there is no Sell button to tap. Otherwise one of the numbers is wrong. Open + Discount / part payment and look for the red message. A discount bigger than the bill, a percentage over 100, or an amount received bigger than the total will all stop the sale.
The customer is paying half now. What do I do? Open + Discount / part payment, type what they are paying in Amount received now, and add the customer name or phone. The rest goes into To Collect against that customer.
What is the difference between the credit payment mode and part payment? The four buttons in the bottom bar only record how the money came in. The balance to collect is worked out from Amount received now, not from the payment mode.
I stepped away from Quick Sale with a half made bill. Is it gone? No, as long as you did not close the browser tab. The cart, the customer details, the discount and the amount received are kept for that tab, so you can move to another screen and come back. Closing the tab does clear them.
Does everything work without internet? No. The cart and the bill maths run on the phone, but finding a medicine, Speak item, Scan list and saving the sale itself all need internet. The mic button turns grey when you are offline.
A medicine does not come up in the search. Why? It is not in your product list yet, so add it in Inventory. Type at least 2 letters, and remember that a rough spelling is usually enough. A medicine that is in your list but has no stock, or only expired stock, still appears in the list; tapping it shows "No stock for <name>" instead of adding it.
Can I give a discount on just one medicine? Yes. Use the small % off box on that cart line. That is separate from the discount on the whole bill, and you can use both together.
The total is a few paise off what I expected. Check the Round to whole ₹ tick box. When it is on, the grand total is moved to the nearest rupee and the small plus or minus adjustment is shown next to the tick box.
